Living Books Workshop

In the spring of 2012, our study group discussed how to begin incorporating Living Books into an early elementary schedule.  Our facilitator provided a document with personal notes and thoughts on the living books she had used in the past several years in her home school.  She also provided a sample schedule for a Year 1 student.  Recognizing that every home and geographic location is different and children at this age are drawn to many different subjects, it is ideal to have that rich buffet of living books at our tables.  Our children are drawn to their ideas, their literary language, their characters, their stories.  Most of the books on the attached document are sourced from the free Charlotte Mason inspired curriculum from Ambleside Online. However the personal notes in the document belong to the author and facilitator, as noted.
